Nine Likings!

I've seen similar posts on other blogs, so I thought I would give it a go since my computer situation at home is being testy. Anyways...here's my nine likings for April!

From Top, Left to Right:

1. Nutella -- Believe it or not, I hadn't ever tried this until recently...needless to say, I'm a convert!

2. Green Tea -- Flavored, unflavored...it matters not with a good cup of green tea.

3. Succulents -- I am endeavoring to begin some kind of gardening, and I think succulents would be a good way to start!

4. Simon Pegg -- He's got to be one of the funniest actors out there! I love watching him in movies and his facial expressions!

5. E.L.F Cosmetics -- nice quality makeup and tools for amazingly low prices! I really like their eyeshadow brushes and an eyeshadow pallette I picked up that has 100 gorgeous colors!

6. "The Cabin in the Woods" -- I saw this film over the weekend and I must say it was very enjoyable and not quite what I was expecting, but in a good way!

7. Baking -- I never seem to have enough time but I love to bake! I did spend a weekend a couple of weeks ago doing almost nothing but cooking and baking.

8. Angel Sanctuary by Kaori Yuki -- I know some may balk at the particulars of the subject matter, but I really enjoy this manga series and I'm totally in love with Yuki-san's artwork. I'm going to re-read this series for the spring.

9. McDade Park, Scranton, PA -- Well, now you know the area in which I live...this is a large, beautiful park in my city and my boyfriend and I visited it on Saturday. We enjoyed a sandwich and a stroll on a path that he helped make in the park when he was a Boy Scout. It was our mutual friend's Eagle Scout project way back when...

Mini-Review: We're Alive, The Zombie Story of Survival {Podcast}

I've been listening to this podcast for the past year and a half or so, and absolutely love it. Also, since I listed "podcasts" as one of my interests, I guess it would do me good to review one of my all-time favorites. Note: I am reviewing this for the "hell" of it...no one is paying me and my opinions are completely 100% my own!

The name should explain it all, but in case you don't know, "We're Alive" is Wayland Productions' free podcast about a group of people surviving the zombie apocalypse in the Los Angeles area of California. It begins with a journal entry of one of the main characters, Michael, and it continues in the same fashion for each episode: Each usually begins with one of the characters narrating and then it flows into a full-cast audio drama complete with sound effects. Think a prime-time television show being performed in a sound studio instead of on TV.

KC Wayland and Shane Salk are the co-creators of the show: KC is the main writer and director (Shane Salk plays Angel, one of the main characters on the show). The story itself is very emotionally charged and action-packed--and extremely well-written. This isn't a copy of "The Walking Dead" or a George A. Romero film, this is original and awesomely unique.  The characters are excellent...each have a depth and a mysterious side that is either revealed right away, or you're left pondering just exactly what they are trying to hide. Many of them hint at having secrets that occasionally get revealed throughout the course of the show (but many of them are dangled in front of your face and left there to tempt you!) Each character is so distinct that there is no chance of asking yourself "Who's this again?" There are a few different plotlines that are very easily followed and usually end up connecting to another plotline in the story. There are chapters that will leave you in tears or make you crack up with laughter, and plenty that have you on the edge of your seat in suspense. The sound quality and effects are both excellent; the music is also very well written and executed. {For full cast/crew details, Click Here!}

Currently, Seasons One and Two are complete, Season Three is just beginning. It's free on Itunes and Zune, you can also go directly to the website to listen and download. If you love it as much as I do, you can also purchase both Season 1 and 2 on Amazon.com (I'm going to buy mine with proceeds from my income tax return!). One caveat: there is explicit language and some adult situations (nothing X-rated, I assure you), so listen responsibly!

I can't really say too much else...since then I would be getting into spoilers, so on this note, I hope many of you drop on by to give it a listen! I highly recommend it!

Designer Collabs: Jason Wu for Target

Hello All!

First of all, Happy New Year! I'm looking foward to 2012, and I hope all of you are as well. With a new year comes a new perspective and new things to be excited about.

So, without further ado, I will tell you one thing I am excited about...The new Jason Wu for Target collection that's due out February 5th! Now, let me be honest, I could really care less about labels, but when you are interested in fashion, it's only natural to pay attention to these things. That being said, the only Target collaborations I was exicted about recently was the Missoni +Target collab that ended up being a huge debacle. Luckily for me, I was broke anyway and thus avoided the heavy dissappointment that many had to endure.

So, anyway...I have a particular soft spot for cats, so when I saw the initial sketches for Jason Wu's Target line, I was drawn in.

 So, just on the kitty cat there, I was sold. I also know that Jason Wu's previous claim to fame was the elegant dress he designed for First Lady Michelle Obama.

So, I've been trying to get my hands on all the images I can, knowing that most of the fashions Target will churn out in his name won't reach above a size 12 most likely. However, that won't stop me from picking up a few accessories or perhaps a bag or shoes from the line. So far, these are the only other images I could find:

 I love how classic and flattering his style is...he truly knows how to make a woman look beautiful! I love retro and vintage designs, and this is screaming London in the 60's to me, what do you think? Very mod, no?

Can't wait to see more, and I definitely will be jumping on board Target's designer collab train from now on, especially if Target gets more collabs like this one!
